Arts Award Local Network Cluster Meeting - Sutton

Thursday 24 May 2018

4.00pm - 6.30pm

Gaynesford Lodge, Blake Close, Carshalton SM5 1LJ

Join Sound Connections for an afternoon of networking, informative updates and practical support for those interested in supporting young people taking Arts Award. This meeting is open to Arts Award Advisors, teachers, musicians and other artists working in Sutton and across west / south west London. If you are a newcomer to Arts Award please come along to find out more and get some advice and support. The meeting is an opportunity to make connections, build new partnerships and to share learning and best practice.

Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification for children and young people aged 5 – 25 offering five different levels: Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Encouraging involvement across the arts, Arts Award gives young people the opportunity to explore, enjoy and benefit from their local arts opportunities and creates links to creative organisations and professionals.

During the session Sound Connections will present all the latest information about Arts Award, looking at new and exciting ways of delivering the Arts Award programme. Find out about the different Arts Award qualifications, Arts Award training and support and learn more about setting up partnerships and networks.

There will be opportunities for discussion, sharing new ideas and best practice over light refreshments.

Sound Connections is working with Sutton Music Education Hub, Hillingdon Music Education Hub and Ealing Music Education Hub to establish three Arts Award Local Network Clusters in west / south-west London. Supporting partners are Music Education Hubs in Hounslow, Merton, Richmond and Wandsworth.
