Work in Music was a three-part careers event hosted by The Institute (www.icmp.co.uk) in partnership with Sound Connections (www.sound-connections.org.uk). Focusing on themes of Artist, Industry and Education, participants attended workshops and seminars in which experienced industry professionals and music practitioners shared their insights and tips on diverse musical careers. Given the high proportion of 'portfolio careers' amongst those who work in music, one of the main objectives of the events was to raise awareness of the many opportunities for earning a living. We received excellent feedback from attendees and are keen to run similar events in the future.
