‘Reaching Out’
Using music to connect with children in challenging circumstances

Tuesday 19 June 2012
9.30am – 4.00pm
(refreshments and registration from 9:00am)

‘Reaching Out’ is a one-day conference, in partnership with Sound Connections, focussing on creative and imaginative ways to use music to engage children and young people, whatever the challenges they face. Whether because of language barriers, behavioural issues or a variety of additional needs, music can often be the most powerful way to reach out to young people in challenging circumstances. The day will offer a range of workshops, presentations and discussion opportunities to explore effective ways to connect with children and young people through music-making in both mainstream and special schools.
