Welcome to our new trustees!

Sound Connections is delighted to announce the appointment of two new trustees. Shakira Alleyne and Rudy Green join us as young trustees and members of Wired4Music, our network of young Londoners age 16-25. Our group of trustees oversee the governance of Sound Connections and guide us on our mission to achieve our charitable objectives.

Shakira is a writer and musician and her focus as an artist is to reconnect people with raw emotions and encourage critical questioning. She has been involved in various grassroots projects including a Roundhouse residency in 2018 and Brownswood’s talent initiative Future Bubblers in 2020.

Rudy is a music workshop leader with over a decade’s worth of experience in performing and music making. He studied world music at SOAS University of London and now works with Live Music Now, Music in Hospitals & Care and BeatsLab.

Trustees meet on a quarterly basis to discuss all aspects of the charity, including strategy, finances and staffing. In addition they support specific projects on an occasional basis, such as the development of the marketing strategy and website. You can find out more about all of our fantastic trustees here

As a small charity we rely upon donations from generous individuals, trusts and companies to support our work with children and young people across London.
