As a small charity we rely upon donations from generous individuals, trusts and companies to support our work with children and young people across London.

Enabling Young People with Autism: A Music Educator’s Toolkit
The London Early Years Music Network (LEYMN) commissioned member Emma Hutchinson from Music House for Children to identify the tools needed in music making for young children with Autism.
Emma worked closely with a small group of children spanning the Autistic spectrum and their parents. Through this work she was able to observe and identify useful techniques and approaches that allowed these children to engage in music making.
Her approach and findings have been shared in the latest report from LEYMN. Emma describes her methodology and gives some detailed examples of behaviour and how the music leader responded. Emma’s toolkit is an indispensible guide for those already working with young children on the Autistic spectrum or those who want to develop their skills.
