Innovate 2020-2021 Programmes Announced

We are so pleased to be supporting three Innovate programmes during the next year. We received applications from organisations and individuals from across London doing important and critical work with children and young people through music. It was a difficult decision, but our confirmed programmes are:

  • Achieving for Children: X Marks the Spot: Music Project. Lyric writing project based in Richmond/Kingston targeting young people in their communities who are at risk of being involved in or who have been a victim of serious youth violence and/or knife crime.
  • Beanstalk Arts: SEND Stories and Music. Piloting a storytelling and music programme working with early years SEND children and their families in Lewisham/Southwark, with a strong focus on CPD for practitioners.
  • Music Action International: Sound Sanctuary. Testing a new model of performing events designed and produced by young refugees/asylum-seekers showcasing their creations alongside guest artists from genres that inspire them.

Sound Connections will be working with these programmes on testing their ideas, making adjustments as necessary due to the COVID-19 situation. Find out more about the Innovate Programme here.

As a small charity we rely upon donations from generous individuals, trusts and companies to support our work with children and young people across London.
