Teaching Music – ‘Connecting schools and culture’

TTM Logo - Dark Green

Sound Connections Director, Philip Flood, has written an article for Teaching Music, sharing insights and opinions on the recent Teach Through Music Inspire Event held at the Southbank Centre, ‘London’s Cultural Offer’. This was a day for schools and cultural organisations from across the city to come together to discuss how best they can work together through music.

In this article, Philip reflects on the important and positive outcomes for both teachers and staff of cultural organisations who attended the day, and how they gained tools and ideas for furthering their work together, via themed ‘Think-In’ sessions, break-out groups and panel discussions between young people, teachers and cultural partners.

“Over 20 cultural partners have pledged exclusive offers to those teachers and schools who enrol on the programme. These offers have included free tickets and membership, special access to cultural venues, discounted workshops and free online resources.”
