As a small charity we rely upon donations from generous individuals, trusts and companies to support our work with children and young people across London.

Wired4Music Artist Residency Success!
On 26th January, Sound Connections’ platform for creative young Londoners, Wired4Music, held its first ever artist residency!
The session, which was facilitated by two of our amazing W4M members Timur and Redler, saw four young people from our Wired4Music network spend the day collaborating, swapping genres and remixing covers within a live music setting at Rich Mix London. It was a truly special and creative environment full of inspiring moments, and we are absolutely thrilled to be bringing young people together in real life in the name of music once again! A massive well done to our Wired4Music resident artists; Milli-Rose, Nazzy Dinero, Ikran and Damelola!
See below for some insights directly from our young people, about their W4M residency experiences…
Damelola, W4M January Resident Artist
[I] Loved it! [I] haven’t had much collaboration since lockdown, so this was very refreshing! [Wired4Music] has opened many doors but also has helped build my confidence in artistry. [To someone considering signing up for a similar W4M project, I would say] do it without question!
Milli-Rose, W4M January Resident Artist
It was great to meet and collaborate with new people. Everybody has a different approach to music and being a part of everybody’s process was eye opening. I have met some great people and equally, stepped into different forms of creativity that I would not have tried if it were not for W4M. Also, I have been able to build my confidence in my own material. [Wired4Music is] a great space to trial-and-error new things, meet new people and work on your own creative practice. Equally, it is an informal and approachable space with a team that will support your choices.
Timur, W4M January Residency Producer
I enjoyed helping the artists, through my handouts and contribution as an instrumentalist, leading ice breakers and warmups and running small tasks during the residency day. [My engagement with Wired4Music] has led to new song ideas, organization skills and for me to use the knowledge and skills I currently have. Having the production of the event as a credit on my CV will potentially lead to new opportunities. [To someone considering signing up for a W4M project I would say] make the most of it and use it to improve the areas you are interested in.
Wired4Music have two further artist residencies coming up! One taking place on 23rd Feb and another on 30th March and this time we’re inviting you to come and see our young people in action! Book tickets here >
