Sound Connections is trying something new this year. We know there is a rich set of expertise within the Sound Connections and Wired4Music communities and we want this reflected in a co-created training offer. Therefore we are inviting suggestions for training events, in your localities, based on a need you might have identified, or expertise you would like to share.

We are open to all ideas – if you are doing music with young people, we want to hear from you.

In our workforce development survey people told us that they are particularly interested in developing skills, knowledge and behaviours in:

  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Equality, inclusion and diversity
  • Working with young people with special educational needs
  • Effective teaching and learning strategies for music
  • Social model of disability
  • Family engagement
  • Embedding social justice in your music practice

You would need to source a venue, a presenter and provide refreshments. Sound Connections will provide a £500 fee towards the running of this event, will advertise it as part of our training programme, and will provide support with creating and delivering the course. Training courses would need to run by 31st March 2020 in London. If you would like to apply to run a training course, please fill in the short online application form, or if you would prefer to talk about this contact abigail.damore@sound-connections.org. Closing date for applications Friday 1st November 2019.
