Activate 2024-25 grantees announced

Leicestershire Music are thrilled to be one of Sound Connections ‘Activate’ programme’s chosen Hubs and look forward to working in partnership. The funding will allow the young people of Leicester and Leicestershire to have targeted support to learn about making a career out of their music and be mentored and supported to progress in the right direction with input from the industry. We’re also really excited to be receiving support and training further improve our youth voice work and share best practise with the Activate network.

Lewisham Music are delighted to be involved in Activate because we are passionate about putting young people’s voices at the centre of our decision making processes. The past two year’s has been a really exciting time for our charity, developing both our youth voice and youth governance. We are really excited to see how our involvement in Activate can drive this work forward.

We are thrilled to have been selected to be part of the Activate project and are really looking forward to taking part in this incredible opportunity. This programme aligns perfectly with our mission to empower young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to explore careers in the creative industries. Being part of Activate allows us to continue our commitment to fostering youth voice and participation, ensuring our initiatives are shaped by and for the young people we serve. We are excited about the potential impact this project will have on our community and we are dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every participant can thrive.

We are delighted to be working alongside Sound Connections on their Activate programme – giving us the opportunity to learn with peers to help us deepen our work with and for children and young people across Sheffield. We look forwards to using this opportunity to further develop our community of practice and really place youth voice at the heart of our work.
