Sound Connections is thrilled to announce a partnership with KJCF

Sound Connections is excited to announce that we have been awarded a grant from The Karlsson Játiva Charitable Foundation’s Signatur Programme.

This partnership will help further our work in training & development and centralising youth voices in our work through our project ‘Progression Pathways’.

Through Progression Pathways, Sound Connections partners with grassroots organisations in London and beyond to give young creatives aged 16-25+ from disadvantaged, diverse and marginalised backgrounds opportunities to develop professional knowledge and skills. The focus is on empowering young people through this project to acquire music industry experience through producing and taking part in youth-led, multi-genre events that help them build their network, hone their craft and take their next steps in their music career, whether that’s on or off stage.

Young people also develop broader experience by working with the Sound Connections team to programme, perform, and join panels and talks as speakers at the 2025 annual gathering ‘Supporting young people’s progression’.

This partnership will support our Progression Pathways project that focuses on two main divisions: WIRED UP and Inclusive Practice in Action conference on February 27/2/25.

WIRED UP is our monthly live music event and cornerstone activity of the Sound Connections Youth Voice & Participation strand. The event is all about collaborating with young people so that they are at the heart of decision-making. These monthly live events showcase three grassroots music development organisations presenting three live performance artists each at London’s Rich Mix venue in Shoreditch. In addition, WIRED UP is run, scheduled and delivered by young event producers, helping to develop their experience in the live events field.

Progression Pathways also supports our Annual conference Inclusive Practice in Action (IPIA), a cornerstone activity of our Training & Professional Development strand which is all about empowering and equipping music and creative practitioners with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to be inclusive, relevant, and engaging in their work.
