As the only major music organisation and the only disabled-led music application to receive funding from Arts Council England’s Change Makers funding initiative, it was key for Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) to be able to record, understand and share what they have done and what they have learned in an open and transparent manner.
This report charts the many facets that are needed to achieve systemic change, but fundamental for BSO is a one-team approach across all parts of the Company and Board of Trustees, acknowledging and celebrating that inclusion is not a project.
As external evaluators of the BSO Change Makers programme 2017-2018, Sound Connections have played a vital part in charting BSO’s journey to become a more inclusive organisation.
