Khareem will draw on a Black History perspective and focus on what global inclusive leadership looks like beyond charisma, veneer and personality. He will explore qualities such as self development, the development of others, selflessness, ideas, innovation and action, underpinned by ethics, morals and principles.

Open Arms

Steph Dickinson: Managing Director of Pie Factory Music | Musician | Songwriter

Inspired by Pie Factory Music’s work with unaccompanied asylum seekers and refugees, Steph will talk about leading with open arms. How do we find the strength and resilience to lead with kindness, openness and humility in a world plagued by violence and injustice? As music leaders and facilitators, how can we truly share power with the young people we work with?

Broken Record or Catalyst for Change?

Rachel Staunton: Artistic Director of London Youth Choirs | Conductor | Choral entrepreneur | Associate of the Royal Academy of Music

Rachel will give an honest reflection about her experiences one decade into setting up The London Youth Choirs, which aims to be diverse, inclusive and accessible. Rachel will talk about the difficulties and barriers that exist in the industry, the opportunities that are unique to London, and how LYC’s innovative approach can nurture future leaders.

11.25am – 11.40am: Comfort Break

Leading with Courage

Margaret Pierre: Co-CEO of ML Community Enterprise | Non-Executive Director for the Regenda Homes Group | Trustee for the National Communities Resource Centre

When placed in a position of authority we have a choice to be good or bad leaders. To be a good leader takes courage. Drawing on her own experiences in the youth and voluntary sectors, Margaret will discuss areas where we cannot compromise as leaders.

12.00pm – 1.00pm: Back to Basics. The Importance of Belonging

Nichole McGill-Higgins (she/her): International Bestselling Author | Belonging Leadership Coach | Multi Award Winner | Global Keynote Speaker | Positive Disrupter

Nichole will focus on the key elements of how to cultivate and foster belonging in the workplace. She will be exploring the key steps that will help organisations to understand the importance of belonging.

How do we allow everyone to feel welcomed, accepted, valued, respected, and appreciated? How do we cultivate a safe/curious/brave space where psychological safety is common ground for all.

She will explore how we can get to that place where everyone in our organisations, from top to bottom, can enhance inclusive behaviours and co-create a culture that is inclusively celebrating and highlighting the similarities we share as humans whilst celebrating our wonderful differences.

1.00pm – 2.00pm: Lunch

Join us for hearty food and heartfelt conversation. Catering will be provided by plant-based gourmet fusion food company, Kal’s Kitchen. Kal’s Kitchen employs vulnerable women who need a second chance in life.

2.00pm – 3.30pm: Breakout Workshops

Delegates will be able to choose from four different workshops to explore the topic further with colleagues across the sector.

As we approach the end of the day, Kiz will take us through a process where we engage with the importance of creative self care in leadership.
